Lyra & PrintFleet Launch Office Print Monitor
Lyra Research, a digital imaging authority introduced a new advisory service called Office Print Monitor today at the 2007 Lyra Imaging Symposium. This new information service, powered by data from PrintFleet, a leader in print management and assessment software, combines real-time, real-world corporate printing data with strategic analysis and insight to provide printer and copier vendors such as Canon, HP, Lexmark, and Xerox, with the information they need to evaluate and track changing patterns of printing in office environments.
Lyra and PrintFleet have established an ever-expanding "panel" of printers that can be monitored remotely and in real time. The current panel consists of more than 10,000 printers in more than 130 corporations throughout North America. On a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, Lyra can monitor each printer or copier in the panel and ascertain print volume, average coverage amount per page, and dozens of other print-related variables. This vast database of information is full of critical clues on how the use of printers and copiers in the office is changing.
"The launch of Office Print Monitor enhances Lyra's advisory service lineup by enabling us to deliver to clients strategic longitudinal trend analysis derived from real-world print data as a complement to our comprehensive forecasting models and market research. Clients need to know how the office printing market is changing, and, working with PrintFleet, we are able to provide that insight in real time," said Charles LeCompte, president of Lyra Research.
Similar to Lyra's other advisory services, Lyra's Office Print Monitor is an online subscription-based annual information service. Service features include periodic and longitudinal analysis of printing volume trends by segment, by printer or copier brand, by printer or copier model, and by number of pages printed per month. There are statistics on device errors and user interventions by class of device, brand, and model.
"By leveraging Lyra's vast industry knowledge, data analysis, and interpretation capabilities, it allows us to further enhance the usability of the product and support services we provide resellers in the BTA and printer supply and service channels," stated Norman McConkey, president of PrintFleet. "The data trends uncovered by the Office Print Monitor advisory service will aid in the direction of future development initiatives at PrintFleet. We are pleased to be working with a valuable industry resource such as Lyra Research."
Office Print Monitor delivers monthly analysis of corporate printing environments. Each month, Lyra will focus on a specific trend such as corporate adoption of color printers and copiers, the shift in copier versus printer installations, or typical print volume per month per employee as a function of company size. Inquiry time will also be available to discuss findings with your assigned Lyra analyst.
