Minolta-QMS to Trim 55 Jobs

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Minolta-QMS Inc. will eliminate 55 jobs, including 24 at its Mobile headquarters, because of slow sales. After the cutbacks, effective Aug. 3, the laser printer manufacturer will employ 350 at its west Mobile offices out of 677 worldwide. The move will reduce the company's U.S. work force by about 15 percent, Minolta-QMS President Shoei Yamana said Wednesday.
