On May3rd and 4th, at the Atlantic City Convention Center, NECRA introduced their new name and mission.

As our industry evolves so must our industry. The NECRA Board has worked hard over several months to look at what their members do and need to accomplish their business goals. After polling and much discussion, the membership has voted to change the name and logo to “Imaging and Information Technology Association”, or i-TECH.

“This change will allow us to broaden our educational offerings to our members,” says Pam Adzima, president. “Our member companies repair laser printers, sell office machines, repair computers, and remanufacture toner cartridges. Many outsource a portion of their remanufacturing. We want our name to reflect the many faces of our membership.” The i-TECH website has taken on a new look that will soon offer links to the copier and computer industries. What remains constant is our roots in the remanufacturing industry. “Prebate continues to be a threat to us, whether you remanufacture, outsource, or are simply a consumer”, says Adzima. “With major financial help from Static Control and Optical Technologies, we have been able to defeat Lexmark in New York but the fight continues as is evident with the newer machines and chips.”

Our web address is www.necra.org and will change to www.itechonline.org in the next few weeks. Along with our newsletter, members will receive emails about I-TECH events and news. For more information, contact Pam Adzima at padzima@necra.org or call (610) 367-4997.
