New Twenty Second Seal for Use in HP Cartridges

Static Control Components, Inc. has announced the release of a unique seal design that reduces production time of each HP1160/1320 toner cartridge remanufactured, thereby increasing profitability. Static Control’s Twenty Second Seal (TSS) doubles as a toner barrier and insertion device that assures remanufacturers proper positioning and alignment of the seal in the sealing channel of the cartridge.

The TSS’s unique “all-in-one” design features a rigid substrate with both the pull film and the release liner attached, allowing them to be inserted directly into the seal port of the cartridge simultaneously and eliminating the need for a separate tool. The simple three-step installation improves production time by as much as 50 percent over SCC’s popular ProSeal technology.

The rigid substrate of the TSS will not bind or fold during installation, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive ensures a secure bond to the cartridge sealing channel once the release liner is removed and the seal is pressed into place. After installation, an extended, perforated tab that aids insertion is easily removed. Static Control’s new seal design features 2-ply clear pull film, which keeps toner from leaking during shipping and handling, will not tear, split or rip when removed by the end user.
