Nextpage Launches Information Tracking Platform
NextPage has announced the availability of its new NextPage Information Tracking Platform. The NextPage platform supports the company's flagship application, NextPage Document Retention, as well as new applications that will address the different elements of risk associated with unstructured and unmanaged data that resides at the edge of the enterprise - hard drives and scattered shared drives.
NextPage Information Tracking Platform is ready to address an enterprise's biggest information risk and policy compliance challenges by making it practical to track and classify unstructured and unmanaged documents, enforce policies from retention, to disposition to legal holds and then monitor compliance across the organization.
The NextPage Information Tracking Platform is optimized to help manage information risk at the edge through several categories of applications:
Proactive Tracking - Proactive Tracking tracks files through their entire document lifecycle - moves, copies, saves, renames and emails. In addition, to tracking information wherever it is stored on the desktop, scattered shared drives, email attachments and removable media.
Classification - Classification can be maintained for every document in an enterprise, from the moment of creation. This way, enterprises can obtain visibility into the organization and types of content that exist.
Policy Management - Enables firms to automate enforcement of existing or future information-risk policies. To meet an enterprise's specific information-risk needs, custom applications can be built using a flexible array of conditions and actions built into the Policy Management Module. Policies can involve the user in decisions, allowing them to confirm actions; or they can bypass user confirmation, announcing policy-driven actions to them or to designated custodians.
Monitoring & Reporting- Built into the NextPage Information Tracking Platform is a Monitoring Module that can create custom reports and charts to monitor compliance and facilitate follow-up by administrators or custodians.
Inventory & Discover- The Inventory & Discover Module allows enterprises to classify and initiate tracking for any pre-existing documents that may be scattered throughout ad hoc collaborative and archival areas.
Security & Administration- The NextPage system uses information about an enterprise-s users, classifications, policies, and policy variables. All of these can be viewed and modified interactively at a password-protected central console. Users, classifications, and policy variables can also be fed into the system automatically via an XML feed that draws data from existing information systems.
NextPage Document Retention, built on the NextPage Information Tracking Platform, drives compliance to enterprise document retention policies. It does this by enabling unstructured and unmanaged documents to be tracked across the distributed organization and retention and disposal policies to be actively enforced.
