Oki Increases Color Printer Market Share, Remains Fastest-Growing U.S. Color Page Printer Manufacturer
Oki Data Americas, Inc. announced that it has increased its share of the U.S. color page printer market to 11.7 percent.
According to industry analyst IDC in its May 2004 U.S. Quarterly Printer Tracker, Oki Data remains the fastest-growing color page printer manufacturer in the U.S. In the first quarter of 2004, Oki Data's share of the color page printer market increased to 11.7 percent from 8.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2003. The company quickly has gained market share in a printer category that has grown 50 percent from the first quarter of 2003 to the first quarter of 2004. In that 12-month period, Oki Data has grown 192 percent in unit shipments and gained 5.7 share points.
"Customers have embraced our digital color printers because they offer color without compromise: fast print speeds and high performance while maintaining the highest levels of print quality," said Stew Krentzman, president and CEO of Oki Data Americas. "Our market share performance is a clear indicator of our customers' positive response to our color products. They're also responding to our customized printing solutions that meet their specific business needs."
Oki Data also has maintained a dominant position in the impact printer market this year. According to IDC, the company currently has a 62 percent share of the 9-pin impact printer market and a 53 percent share of the 9-pin and 24-pin impact printer market overall.
