OMD Launches Wireless Solution for Field Service Technicians
OMD Corporation announced the release of OMD Service On-The-Go, a wireless product that seamlessly integrates with OMD’s Vision software. OMD Service On-The-Go provides the ability for the service technician to dispatch and close service calls from the field using a wireless device.
OMD President Donna McAnany states, “OMD Service On-The-Go provides dealerships with a powerful tool to increase the productivity and profitability of their service department by empowering their field service teams with the vital information necessary to review and complete service calls in the field using a PDA, PDA-phone or laptop with a wireless card, interfacing directly with OMD Vision software.”
OMD Service On-The-Go provides real-time access to information in OMD Vision, including the ability to access and update the following areas: age open service calls, identify the distance to the call, dispatch service calls, close service calls, close incomplete calls, enter parts required for incomplete calls, scan bar codes for parts used and update meter reads. All of this and more is accessed live, providing the service technician, administration and management all the necessary information, available in real time, for an efficient service operation.
In addition, OMD’s Service Dispatch module provides a variety of management reports on service activity, technician productivity, including up-to-date information on open service calls, closed service calls and incomplete calls all at the manager’s fingertips.
OMD Service On-The-Go is available now to give the dealer’s field service technicians access to complete and accurate information when they need it.
