OMD Regional Sales Manager Retires after Two Decades of Service
OMD Regional Sales Manager Judy Rentschler retired after serving more than 23 years with OMD.
Judy’s career with OMD started at Modern Business Systems (MBS) in March of 1981. Previously Judy had been very involved in various volunteer organizations and served on the board of the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross. She started at OMD as Supervisor of Administration for the computer division of Modern Business Systems. Modern Business Systems became one of the largest independent copier dealerships in the United States and spanned nine states, and 27 branches.
In 1984, MBS was purchased by Alco Standard and the co-founder of Modern Business Systems – Paul Pierce founded OMD Corporation to design, sell and support the OMD Software, mainly concentrating on the office equipment industry and other industries with a requirement for field service. Paul recognized Judy’s detail and professionalism and she became his Assistant and Corporate Secretary. Paul quickly recognized Judy’s dedication to the company and her eagerness to learn so he soon had her taking sales calls and assisting the sales representatives in selling. Judy spent many hours burning the midnight oil getting quotes together and preparing for presentations to potential customers. Her organizational skills and drive helped her to keep up with this fast growing company.
In 1990 Judy made the transition to Marketing Manager as Paul was beginning his retirement. She dove right into marketing OMD, and continued to sell the software. In 1999 Judy was recognized as Top Sales Person of the year achieving 217% of quota. Judy’s dedication and knowledge of the software was evident in the volume of sales she did.
In 2002 Judy was made Regional Sales Manager of the South and New England regions of the United States by the new Vice President of Sales and Marketing – David Nagel. Judy’s husband Riley would go with Judy when she would travel her territory. It was even said that Riley was an employee of OMD by marriage. “It has been a pleasure working with Judy, she has been a terrific team player always wanting what is best for the company, she will truly be missed” says Dave Nagel. The saying “Dialing for Dollars” will forever be Judy’s trademark.
