Part Now! Releases Quick Reference Guide
Parts Now! released its latest Quick Reference Guide, widely considered the industry reference source. Now in its 9th edition, the 2006 Quick Reference Guide features information not found anywhere else. It is hand-compiled by Parts Now! experts who fill the largest volume of laser printer parts orders in the world. Whether a printer is located on a desktop in Seattle or in a manufacturing plant in Singapore, the Guide lists everything that companies must stock to help eliminate 90% of printer downtime within 24 hours.
New this year is a greater focus on the multifunction printers (MFPs) which are more complex than standard desktop models. According to Lyra Research, MFPs—printers that copy, scan and fax—will grow at 220% compounded annually to 2009.
Steve Geishirt, Director of Training at Parts Now!, explained, “The rapid infusion of new MFP models into the market necessitated an early release of the Quick Reference Guide.” He continued, “Introductions of these new models used to happen every two years and now its every year and even every quarter which makes the information contained in the Guide all the more urgent.”
The Quick Reference Guide puts at-a-glance lists of major parts and assemblies, maintenance kits, service manuals and printer memory at one’s fingertips. Unlike other manuals, the Quick Reference Guide is based on hands-on research that goes beyond simply reviewing inventory databases. The Parts Now! technical team analyzes thousands of calls each month and interfaces with departments across the company to determine trends and patterns in parts replacement to reveal the most common problems and fixes.
Steve stated, “As new equipment enters the market, it takes approximately one year of usage before we can fully understand the pattern of common printer failures. We’ve poured over a year’s worth of data – no other company can match the knowledge and experience we’ve put into these pages.”
