Parts Now! Announces New Training Opportunities
Parts Now! announced the release of a new Online Training course, as well as a week of hands-on printer repair training classes. The Online Training course, “Introduction to Network Printer Cards” is a free course available on Parts Now!’s website, while the hands-on classes will cover all aspects of laser printer repair for several models of HP printers, and will be held at the Parts Now! training facility in Madison, Wis., February 20-24, 2006.
“Introduction to Network Printer Cards” is a basic level course for technicians who need to know the basics of NIC or network cards. Parts Now! Director of Training Steve Geishirt thinks even experienced technicians could use a brush-up on network card basics.
“It just makes everything easier,” Geishirt said. “By knowing the basics, even if you can’t fix the problem right there, you will know where to go to find the information you need.”
This 33-minute course focuses on four key areas – network basics and terminology, common network types and topologies, internal vs. external NIC cards and their use on other OEM printers, and installation and trouble-shooting.
For those technicians that would like to learn printer repair in a classroom environment, Parts Now! is offering four model-specific hands-on training courses in February. These courses include sections on printer features, laser theory, paper path, menus & specialty modes, as well as teardown and reassembly.
Printers covered in February courses are the HP LaserJet 5Si/8000/8100 series, HP LaserJet 4000/4100 series, HP LaserJet 4200/4300 series, and the HP Color LaserJet 4500/4550 series.
