PowerSource Online Tracking
PowerSource Online Inc. now sells a Web-based subscription service that forecasts sales trends for buyers and sellers of new, used, refurbished and hard-to-find computer, parts, systems, peripherals, accessories and software.
The PowerIndex combines part-search and inventory-listing data from 1,500 distributors, dealers, resellers and service companies that use the secure, members-only, Web-based global markets operated by PowerSource Online, which is ranked one of the largest, revenue-generating, Web-based business-to-business market-maker and trading hub by industry researcher Net Market Makers.
Monthly reports to subscribers aggregate the “Top 100” part searches, based on data from over 750,000 monthly searches, and the “Top 100” available products, based on over 800,000 inventory line items in the PowerSource Online database. The reports are sorted by manufacturer, part number, and average price. The first reports from the project were offered to test subscribers at the start of December and focused on tracking the sales of parts used in systems manufactured by Apple, Compaq, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Lexmark and Toshiba.
PowerSource Online plans to expand the PowerSource Index to include other manufacturers - and to make the PowerSource Index widely available to subscribers during the second quarter of 2001.
