Print Manager Plus has New Features
Software Shelf corporation today announced the release of Build .73 of Print Manager Plus version 5.5 for all Microsoft operating systems. The newest features provide settings to restrict how much users can print to color printers. Organizations have reported Print Manager Plus cuts their cost of printing up to 75% while industry studies have shown that it is not unusual in an organization for the cost of printing to be equivalent to 40% of company labor costs or equivalent to as much as 5% of its gross revenues.
A color printer can cost less than a color printer toner cartridge. When printing is not restricted to color printers, anyone can rack up a cost in toner alone that is tantamount to buying the organization unlimited supplies of color printers with no control by management.
This newest build is another step in Software Shelf continuing and evolving development for product feature improvement to meet the needs and wants of its customers. These added values include: Updated support for the newest print drivers and an expanded, remote reporting module able to be accessed by any manager and more.
New features are given to customers free as part of their routine maintenance included with the product.
This announcement follows on last week’s announcement of the release of Print Manager Plus compatibility with Microsoft Cluster Technology.
Print Manager Plus not only provides reports and allows quotas to be set on users, it allows one to bill clients for printing done for them, it enables consultants to assess customer networks to determine what printers or configurations will optimize their printer fleet, and other features which all add up to significantly reducing the cost of printing.
Over 10,000 customers use it including Microsoft (who offer it to the Public Sector in Europe, Middle East, and Africa), Hewlett-Packard, Dell (who offer it as part of their standard server software), Oxford University, Siemens, CNN, NASA, the Red Cross, along with schools, universities and companies in nearly every country.
Print Manager Plus comes in English or German. Tech support and sales is provided in 12 European languages during American and European Business hours.
