PrintFleet joins the list of MWA Intelligence licensees for MWAi’s eight remote monitoring and meter collection patents

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. —  MWA Intelligence, Inc. (MWAi), a leader in remote asset management tools and mobile workforce automation systems and services today announced that it has reached a cross licensing agreement in principal with PrintFleet Inc., a world leader in print management and assessment software and support services , whereby, PrintFleet receives a right to license MWAi’s patent portfolio and both companies agree to collaborate their engineering efforts in some key areas such as vendor support. MWAi may also decide to distribute PrintFleet products.

“We are happy to enter into this cooperative relationship with PrintFleet”, said Michael Stramaglio, President and CEO of MWA Intelligence. “Our patents are licensed by most of the major manufacturers of printers and copiers, as part of their latest technology offerings of remote status monitoring and meter collection. We view our licensing agreement with PrintFleet as the next logical step in the exploding print management and intelligent device monitoring markets.”

MWAi’s patent portfolio consists of eight international patents covering areas of remote device management and monitoring of imaging devices. This intellectual property is the result of years of development in both “push and pull” intelligent device management technologies. These international patents cover both the class of device management that is device initiated, as well as the class of management that initiated by an external inquiry into the device itself.

“We are looking forward to our new collaborative alliance with MWA Intelligence”, said Norman McConkey, President of PrintFleet. “With our commitment to offering the most comprehensive print management package in the industry, we continue to search for strategic partners who will add value to our technical and professional services development. This new venture will be a mutually successful business partnership and growth opportunity”.

Intelligent Device Management allows dealers to remotely monitor, manage and service networked and non-networked copier/printer/multifunctional devices at geographically dispersed customer sites, automatically collecting and billing meter reads, ensuring timely, accurate invoicing and reducing lost revenues. In addition, MWAi’s MeterAudit print analysis tool captures print volume and status data — tracked per device — to generate reports that can be used to support the sales process, validating the fleet deployment of the imaging equipment as well as the validity of print or document management strategies.
