Revolutionary Easy-Install Unicorn PCRConnection™ - An Improved PCR Contact

LaserLand based in Sylvan Lake, Michigan is pleased to announce a new product called the Unicorn PCRConnection™. Benefits of this improvement includes simplicity and installation ease. There is an inconsistent electrical contact supplying the PCR with electricity in many toner cartridges including the 4000, 2100, 1100, 5L, PX, VX and more.

The system involves a saddle that is conductive, which supplies electric charge to the PCR. As you may know from the past, (with LaserLand’s previous PCRConnection™ for the LX and NX, as is stated in Steve Michlin’s patent number 5,367,364) when a plastic conductive saddle is used, the electrical contact is robust only for a limited time. As the conductive surface material migrates from the surface, the plastic contact becomes partially insulative and becomes prone to premature failure. It seems to fail after the first cartridge cycle. This failure is not completely apparent as the image degrades, causing gray background, ghosting. and other image degradations that are not always apparent. The consistent result is that the image is not what it could be. Using a plastic conductive device in electrical contact with a moving part is only a temporary contact at best. However, with the Unicorn PCRConnection™ the contact is continuous with a spring-metal contact that bypasses the saddle, thereby, allowing the original saddle to make its contact and then provides additional contact around the OEM plastic saddle. In addition, the Unicorn PCRConnection decreases the wear on the PCR, for longer PCR life as will later be explained.

The Unicorn PCRConnection has multiple benefits, such as, a more robust connection is provided to the PCR, an important component in the imaging process. In addition, the spring portion of the Unicorn PCRConnection has slightly less pressure so that the PCR presses a little lighter against the photoreceptor drum. Less pressure on the photoreceptor drum provides longer life to the PCR, therefore increasing electrical contact, which can make a better toner cartridge than the OEM.

The Unicorn PCRConnection is patent pending. LaserLand will make more versions of this product as recommended by customer demand.
