Ricoh Aligns with Doc Scanning Company
Ricoh Corporation announced that Omtool, a provider of document scanning and routing solutions, has joined Ricoh’s Alliance Program. Omtool’s AccuRoute enterprise document delivery and management application will work with Ricoh’s GlobalScan Server software to provide multiple document management options that include capturing, archiving and routing of information.
GlobalScan turns Ricoh’s Multifunction Products (MFPs) into network scanners that enables users to send scanned documents to e-mail, fax and print destinations, as well as to store scanned documents to network folders or a handful of supported document management systems. The AccuRoute – GlobalScan integration extends these basic capabilities, allowing users to save documents into a broader variety of document management, record management and other content management systems, and specify comprehensive indexing information.
AccuRoute also allows users to define, store and then select and re-use standard document distribution workflows, so that a pre-defined workflow such as saving a document and e-mailing and faxing that document to specified addresses can be accomplished with one scan and can be used over and over again. The combination of Ricoh MFPs, GlobalScan and AccuRoute provides robust features for document scanning and distribution.
“Including Omtool in Ricoh’s Alliance Program reinforces our goal of providing total document management solutions that enable customers to streamline their businesses and workflow, making their lives easier and more productive,” said Wayne Mize, vice president of solutions marketing division for Ricoh Corporation.
Ricoh’s Alliance Program encourages leading software companies, content management systems integrators and consulting companies to work together with Ricoh to provide innovative and effective software, digital imaging and content/document management solutions for the business community. The Alliance Program was created for companies whose products and technologies can integrate with and support the competitive stance of Ricoh products and solutions in the marketplace.
There are two divisions within the Alliance Program, the Strategic Alliance Program and the Technology Alliance Program. Omtool has joined the Technology Alliance Program, which is comprised of third party software companies who specialize in solution offerings that complement Ricoh hardware and software technologies.
“Omtool is pleased to become part of Ricoh's Technology Alliance Program,” said Bob Voelk, president and CEO of Omtool. “AccuRoute has been very successful in the legal market and we expect that to continue, as we look forward to achieving similar success in finance and healthcare. Our relationship with Ricoh will provide us increased opportunities to expand AccuRoute’s presence in these markets.”
