Ricoh Corporation Launches Barcode Software Solution
Ricoh Corporation introduced Ricoh’s Intelligent Barcode Solution (IBS) software that enables a wide range of Ricoh Multifunctional Products (MFPs) to print barcode and optical character recognition (OCR) from a single program.
Today, many businesses print barcode and OCR to keep track of inventory and mission critical documents, requiring a separate device or supplemental hardware. IBS seamlessly integrates with Ricoh MFPs to expand functionality with the ability to incorporate barcode printing into the device’s daily function. The user-friendly design enhances productivity for businesses operating in the SAP environment by automatically translating the HP Barcode language into the Ricoh print driver language without interrupting workflow.
"In today’s demanding business world, companies are looking for document devices or MFPs that can handle more than just workflow, requiring solutions that are embedded or compatible with existing units,” said Hede Nonaka, vice president of marketing for Ricoh Corporation. “By integrating with Ricoh MFPs, IBS offers companies that require barcode printing a user-friendly software solution that streamlines workflow while reducing costs.”
IBS offers companies a versatile solution that works efficiently with input-output control options such as paper tray selection, duplex, staple and hole punch, and allows multiple users to access Ricoh MFP’s features without special configuration. IBS automatically translates to Ricoh code so users do not have to modify application software, providing businesses with a cost-effective way to bring barcode printing into the office while optimizing the capabilities of the existing Ricoh MFP.
