Ricoh Provides The Answers For Input, Management and Output Issues at COMDEX 2001

Ricoh Corporation, the Dependable Digital(TM) output company, is showcasing its new products and solutions, at COMDEX 2001 from November 12 - 16, at booth # 5534 South Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center.

All six product suites will demonstrate the efficiency and productivity that can be achieved when Ricoh office products and software solutions are integrated in the corporate work environment.

At COMDEX 2001, Ricoh is showcasing its new and existing solutions in real-world settings to optimize reseller's and end-user's understanding and experience with their innovative offerings. The solutions suites will demonstrate the following:

  • ScanRouter v2Pro: This easy-to-use, digital document delivery system conveniently integrates paper documents such as graphics, blue prints and forms into a digital network. It also functions as a network scanner and electronic fax routing system. Key features include: Address Books, Document Storage and Retrieval, and Electronic Document Distribution capabilities.

  • Desktop Binder v2Pro: This personal document management software program enables users to file and view any application file and image file effortlessly, creating a ``paperless office'' environment. Desktop Binder also allows users to manage both electronic and paper documents while increasing the overall productivity. Key features include: Conversion and Exporting, Direct Access to Email and Graphic Editing functions.

  • SmartNetMonitor: An easy-to-use network utility that facilitates a flexible and efficient means of controlling supported networked Ricoh peripherals. Key features include client and administrative printer management, group printer management, notification menus, peer to peer printing (Direct TCP/IP printing), recovery printing (Reroute job on error) and parallel printing (Job splitting to multiple print devices).

  • Printer Cost & Security Management (PCSM): A distributed and scaleable printing management tool, PCSM was developed for networks with 10 to up to 10,000 users. The solution is comprised of a basic accounting module, PAS (printing Accounting Server) and two add-on modules for secure printing, enabling users to manage all of their network printing, desktop printing and copying output from one location. Key features include: Centralized Control, Evaluation of Hard Copy Costs, Print Security, and Comprehensive Reporting Environment.

  • EFI Velocity Software -- This automated workflow software developed by EFI resides on the users PC and provides advanced black and white and color printing capabilities for high production and corporate workgroup environments. Designed to leverage the combined power of Ricoh manufactured LAN output devices, the EFI Velocity Software solution maximizes the overall productivity of your printing environment. Key features include: Smart Job Routing, Best Engine Split, Copy Split and Hot Folders.

  • WinConnect: This wireless printing solution from TROY Wireless is made possible via Bluetooth wireless technology. Through WinConnect, users with Bluetooth enabled laptop computers can send jobs to a printer without connecting a cable to their computer. Instead, the job is sent to the WinConnect print adapter, a compact device that connects directly to the parallel port of the print device. With WinConnect, wireless printing is not only possible from your PC but also through Bluetooth enabled PDA's and cell phones. The WinConnect interface is the easiest to use in the industry and that is why Ricoh is endorsing this solution for its customers with wireless needs.

Other exciting initiatives at Comdex 2001 include the announcement of the Ricoh Customization Program and the introduction of the ``Document Workflow Challenge'' with DocuMan.

The Ricoh Customization Program (RCP) is designed to identify and implement the optimal combination of hardware and software technologies to create a total office solution in any work environment. Additionally, the RCP consultative team is equipped to develop fully customized solutions for customers or prospects looking to increase efficiency and decrease overhead cost in all areas concerning document input, management and output. Customization can address every workgroup challenge including document workflow, integrated network environments and hardware and software inter-functionality.

Additionally, Ricoh is pleased to unveil the ``Document Workflow Challenge'' interactive CD-ROM. Hosted by DocuMan, an animated friend of Ricoh, prospects, partners and customers are prompted to choose a corporate working environment and see how Ricoh's software and hardware solutions can deliver greater efficiencies over traditional corporate configurations. Interactive CD-ROMs will be available at the booth.
