Ricoh Unveils Technology Portal Showroom in Chicago
Ricoh Corporation unveiled its innovative new Chicago showroom-called "Ricoh's Technology Portal"-featuring all of Ricoh's cutting- edge office equipment and software solutions.
Designed as a fully networked business environment, the Technology Portal is located at One South Wacker Drive. It depicts typical customer workflow with various Ricoh solutions designed to address everyday requirements through four distinct sections of the showroom floor: Workgroup, Production, Enterprise, and Professional Services.
Offering a glimpse of the new office environment, the Ricoh Technology Portal demonstrates corporate workflow solutions that meet everyday document and printing management needs. Customers can visit the Technology Portal and have a Ricoh consultant analyze their workflow goals and customize a solution for their company.
"In a competitive industry such as ours, Ricoh knows that open and ongoing communications with customers is vital to business success," said Susumu "Sam" Ichioka, Chairman & CEO of Ricoh Corporation. "This new Technology Portal, which provides a look into the document management needs of today's businesses, is designed to enhance the customer experience and allow Ricoh representatives to demonstrate more effectively the power of Ricoh products and solutions."
Among the showroom's customer-friendly features is a state-of-the art conference room, with teleconferencing capabilities that can connect engineers with Ricoh's customers to actually develop solutions on-site.
The showroom also includes an environmental station, which educates visitors on Ricoh's commitment to the environment.
Ricoh became the first in the industry to create such a showroom when it launched its original Technology Portal in New York City in December of 2002. Since it's opening, the New York showroom has been responsible for generating more than $1 million in revenue each month. Ricoh plans to open a third Technology Portal in San Francisco in August.
