Ricoh's Print Director Software Receives Five Star Rating from Buyer's Lab
West Caldwell, NJ – Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that its Print Director cost accounting and print management software has received a “Five Star” overall rating from Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), the leading global provider of critical test reports on document imaging products. Designed for billing customers and monitoring activity on a device or network, Print Director received the highest possible rating from BLI due to its wide range of features, overall flexibility and ease of use.
In the comprehensive evaluation performed by BLI, Print Director scored exceptionally well in the installation and ease-of-use categories. With a simple and flexible set-up process, the client software can be automatically pushed out to all workstations on local and remote networks with the push of a button. Moreover, the management utilities are extremely user-friendly, featuring simple check boxes to activate or configure most of the functionality.
Print Director demonstrated extraordinary compatibility among printers and multifunction products (MFPs), with both Ricoh and competitor devices. The software is able to track output on an unlimited number of printers and MFPs. In addition, the system recognizes when a new device has been added to the network, automatically integrating the new hardware into the database. This eliminates the need for dealer assistance when adding new hardware, reducing downtime and costs.
BLI’s report also cited exceptional reporting abilities due to the Job Manager and Analysis Reporting features. Reports can be customized to show device utilization, as well as detailed activity by user, department and client billing. This enables the user to easily perform a comprehensive analysis of their company’s activities, reducing costs spent on reporting and improving the overall efficiency of the company’s operations.
“Receiving a ‘Five Star’ rating from an industry-leading organization such as BLI reaffirms that Ricoh understands what organizations need when it comes to productivity and efficiency,” said Hede Nonaka, senior vice president of the Document Solutions and Services Division of Ricoh Americas Corporation. “By offering companies top-of-the-line solutions that streamline the document management process and contribute to a successful workflow, we are providing our customers with solutions that truly improve their bottom line.”
Print Director software serves several different purposes. Professionals who bill their clients for printing, photocopying, faxing and scanning services can easily track usage and produce invoices, while imaging hardware dealers can install the software onto potential customers’ networks to discover existing devices and determine output volumes. In addition, Print Director can also be used by companies to monitor their own activity and limit the number of copies, prints, faxes and scans employees can make. Print Director can even establish a print management plan based on established guidelines to help reduce printing costs.
