SCC’s Comprehensive Chip Guide Now Available
The 10th Annual World Expo in Las Vegas saw Static Control Components showcasing the full scope of their chip technology to attendees anxious about intellectual property compliance, as well as ensuring full-featured cartridge functionality for their customers.
“The range of our chip offering is getting somewhat overwhelming to remanufacturers who service a broad selection of printers and cartridges,” stated Christopher Beckerdite, SCC’s director of product marketing. “We felt that it was important to provide a basic set of charts that allow remanufacturers to quickly and easily reference which of SCC’s chips are compatible or cross-compatible with which OEM products.”
The result of these efforts is a neatly organized six-page booklet that includes reference charts connecting individual chip product codes with specific OEM engines and their associated cartridges.
“The charts were a big hit among attendees at Expo,” continued Beckerdite. “Since they were so well received, we’ve decided to reprint the piece and produce posters and offer them for a limited time to our customers who were not able to attend Expo in Las Vegas.”
The booklet will be available for a limited time and in limited quantities to SCC’s current customers. Additional copies of the booklet can be obtained by calling 1-800-488-2426.
SCC Qualifies Modified HP1200 Jumbo Hopper for use in Canon Laser Class 510 Cartridge
Static Control Components, Inc. has qualified its modified HP1200 jumbo hopper for use in the Canon Laser Class 510 cartridge. The extra high-yield hopper allows remanufacturers to offer users increased page count and improved cost per page for HP1000/1150/1200/1300/3300 and now Canon Laser Class 510 cartridges. Testing continues for qualification of additional FX-8 applications.
Design modifications made to the jumbo hopper consist of a notch cut out, so it will function in machines that use the Canon Laser Class 510 cartridge, and a toner sensing patch which allows the printer's sensor to determine the amount of toner remaining. The new design positively impacts remanufacturers’ business, as they enjoy:
• Reduced Labor Time – all toner hopper components included
• Reduced Stock – 1 cartridge for both HP and Canon Laser Class 510 applications
• Increased Profit Margins – extra high-yield cartridge increases margins by more than 25 percent (estimated)
• Broadened Cartridge Portfolio – 1 cartridge reaches greater installed printer base
The HP1200 jumbo hopper includes these installed SCC components:
• Sealed plastic hopper with mag roller end felts
• Mag roller sealing blade
• Doctor blade end foams
• Doctor blade sealing foam
• Hopper cap
The HP1200 jumbo hopper holds 365 grams of toner and prints up to 7,200 pages, compared with 2,500- to 3,500-page yields available from the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) hopper.
