Sharp Document Solutions Company Announces Revenue Increase
Sharp Document Solutions Company of America announced a record-setting, 24-percent revenue increase for 2004, outpacing the rest of the MFP industry.
"This past year, Sharp delivered value-added products and customer response has been overwhelmingly positive," said Ed McLaughlin, president, SDSCA. "We strengthened our line by adding four-color MFPs, enhanced device and network security, and we produced the industry's only truly multitasking monochrome machines. In 2005, we are committed to strengthening our position in the industry by launching next-generation application integration solutions, strengthening security offerings and expanding our color line."
The 24-percent increase follows a nine-percent increase in 2003. The 2004 numbers can be attributed to strong color MFPs sales, as well as strong product introductions, which resulted in 150-percent revenue growth in Segment 4. In addition, advanced customer solutions including Sharp's industry-leading, multilevel security products and strong device management options have increased market penetration. Sharp IMAGER(tm) MFPs include features that enhance productivity, such as Scan2 technology, which scans two-sided documents in a single pass. SDSCA will continue developing and delivering customer-focused products through its independent dealer network to help these partners capture market share and grow business.
"Our independent dealers, when armed with the right products and training, have contributed significantly to our growth," said McLaughlin. "Our customer support programs, including MY SHARP, which lets dealers provide Web sites tailored to the customer, have helped enhance client relationships by providing customized 24/7/365 support online."
