Sharp Expands Direct, Local Sales Operations at Sharp Business Systems of San Diego

Mahwah, NJ - Sharp Electronics Corporation and Sharp Business Systems (SBS) of San Diego today announced the expansion of SBS San Diego with the addition of ImageCom. With this development, the San Diego branch of Sharp Business Systems now has nearly 100 employees, furthering its resources to better serve the San Diego area.

ImageCom, Inc. (ImageCom) brings a strong community background and relationship with Sharp to the SBS San Diego branch. ImageCom has been in the industry for just under 30 years and has been a Sharp dealer since 1998, gaining a reputation for superior service and commitment to its customers. Irv Whitten and Molly Whitten, Presidents of ImageCom, will be retiring but all employees of ImageCom have been asked to join the Sharp team and will provide seamless service to new and existing customers across San Diego.

Sharp Business Systems of San Diego continues to be managed by its current president, Dale Wedge, who brings vast knowledge and experience in the industry to Sharp. “We are excited to be expanding SBS San Diego and look forward to gaining valuable insight and resources from the ImageCom team to better serve our clients and provide preeminent service while delivering the best-in-class document products and solutions to customers,” said Wedge.

Sharp Business Systems Strategy
Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) plans to establish more than 20 local Sharp Business Systems branches during the next few years.

“Sharp Business Systems will help Sharp continue to grow and strengthen Sharp’s distribution in key markets nationwide, already proving successful in Arizona, San Francisco, South Florida, Indianapolis and most recently in San Diego,” said Ed McLaughlin, President, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “Our direct branch strategy will augment our strong independent dealer channel by enabling Sharp to better understand customer needs and then translating that into outstanding products and support for our dealers.”
