Sharp Introduces New Monochrome Document Systems Across Its Entire Workgroup Line
Sharp Document Solutions Company of America (SDSCA) has recently introduced seven new models across all segments of the workgroup category. The new AR-M257/M317, MX-M350/M450 and MX-M550/M620/M700 document systems bring robust functionality and enhanced features to the low, mid and high-end business environments.
With faster multifunction processors, larger touch-screen displays, enhanced document management and security features, these new models can easily keep up with today’s accelerated pace of business and provide the flexibility for growth as businesses evolve. These new models also support Windows VistaTM, the newest Microsoft operating system for PCs, as well as IPV6, the next generation of Internet Protocol. The new MX-M550/M620/M700 and MX-M350/M450 series document systems offer new innovative features such as Inbound Fax Routing and Scan-to-Network Folders. These models also support the Sharp OSATM development platform, which offers a broad range of integration and personalization.
AR-M257/M317 - With a more powerful 64 bit microprocessor and new 8.1-inch touch-screen LCD display, the recently introduced AR-M257/M317 document systems offer 25/31 ppm out-of-box copying and printing. With their flexible design, the AR-M257/M317 make it easy to add optional multifunction capabilities such as PCL6 network printing, network scanning with available application integration and Super G3 fax. Ideal for small- to mid-size workgroups, the AR-M257/M317 offer a 100-sheet reversing document feeder, auto Duplexing and 1,200 dpi (enhanced) laser output.
MX-M350/M450 - With unparalleled reliability and superior multifunction features, the new 35 ppm MX-M350 and 45 ppm MX-M450 document systems are designed to centralize document workflow and provide an efficient method of office communications for mid- to high-volume workgroup environments. Available in mid-April, the new MX-M350/M450 models will raise the bar for productivity, with a powerful 466 MHz multi-tasking controller and a large 8.9-inch touch screen LCD display to make operation simple and easy. With Sharp’s innovative Scan2 technology and a 50-sheet duplex single pass feeder, these productive document systems can scan a two-sided page in a single pass. Sharp’s “Image Send” technology easily allows documents to be scanned to e-mail destinations, desktops, FTP sites and network folders. Both the MX-M350 and MX-M450 models come standard with a document filing system and PCL6 printing.
MX-M550/M620/M700 - Introduced earlier this year, Sharp’s new high-volume MX-M550/M620/M700 document systems offer a new powerful 600 MHz multi-tasking controller and a 150-sheet duplex single-pass document feeder with Sharp’s exclusive Scan2 technology. These new document systems offer productive printing and copying speeds of 55/62/70 ppm and a standard paper capacity of 3,100 sheets. These new models also feature a large 8.9-inch touch-screen LCD for easy operation and programming. This series also offers advanced finishing capabilities, including Saddle-stitch, two-tray sorting/stapling and a post-sheet inserter option.
All these new workgroup models offer enhanced security features. To restrict access to the devices over a network, these MFPs offer several layers of security such as IP/MAC address filtering, SSL Encryption, and IPsec (IP Security) protection. For added security, these workgroup series MFPs offer local and network user authentication to ensure that only authorized users can access the devices. With Sharp’s data security kits, information written to the hard drive can be overwritten using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption, and erased with up to seven-time overwrite protection.
The AR-M257/M317 and MX-M550/M620/M700 models are now available; the MX-M350/M450 models will be available in mid-April.
