Sharp Introduces Sharpdesk 3.0 Document Management Software And Doc2NET Electronic Filing Solution
Mahwah, NJ— Sharp Electronics Corp. has unveiled a pair of new software solutions designed to make it simple for users to organize, edit, combine, retrieve and secure scanned files. The software includes Sharpdesk 3.0, a highly functional desktop document management solution, and Doc2NET, an intuitive electronic filing offering. Both of these solutions complement Sharp's Network Scanning/ImageSEND capability.
Scanning documents makes document transmission and management much simpler. These documents can then be transmitted to multiple users as email attachments or digital faxes, making distribution a much easier, less costly process. Additionally, once in digital format, these documents can be then run through Optical Character Recognition programs, allowing them to be modified and edited. Scanning also gives users an easy way to store and retrieve information. Both of these software offerings make the overall management of scanned documents a much more efficient process, improving workflow and productivity across an entire organization.
Sharpdesk 3.0 makes it easier for today's office users to receive, view, edit and manage their scanned documents at their PC. Doc2NET gives users the ability to simultaneously retrieve and view documents with structured indexing and full text searches, while providing output capabilities via fax, email and print. Sharpdesk 3.0 incorporates a wide range of features to allow users to organize, annotate, edit, combine and retrieve files. One significant feature is a greatly enhanced search feature, allowing users to quickly,
effortlessly locate and retrieve any file on their desktop. Sharpdesk 3.0 is included with all Sharp's networked, scan-enabled Digital IMAGERTMs and FO-DC series multifunction peripherals devices.
Doc2NET, developed for Sharp by Liberty Information Management Solutions of Costa Mesa, California, is an easy-to-use client/server system that captures, organizes, retrieves and secures an organization's business documents. Doc2NET gives users the ability to simultaneously retrieve and view documents with structured indexing and full text searches, while offering output capabilities via fax, email and print. Doc2NET complements Sharp's Imager and FO-DC scanning solutions by providing a common document repository for a workgroup or small business. Unlike Sharpdesk, Doc2NET does not allow users to edit documents, thereby helping preserve document integrity -- an important feature in any electronic filing application.
