Software Bridges the Gap between Paper and Digital Workflows
Westbrook Technologies, a provider of document management software solutions that streamline business processes, announced the availability of the Fortis for eCopy ShareScan connector. The new application connector allows users to bridge the gap between paper and digital workflows with one touch of a button. It leverages the open architecture of the Fortis document management software for seamless connectivity, allowing eCopy ShareScan users with a Canon digital copier or scanner to send scanned documents effortlessly to their Fortis database.
On the front end, eCopy ShareScan can capture and transform full-color or black and white paper documents into electronic images extending the capabilities of a digital copier or scanner. With Fortis for ShareScan, users simply select the "Send to Fortis" button on the eCopy touch panel, and scanned images are passed to Fortis. Once inside the Fortis database, users can store and securely retrieve all their business critical documents in seconds making information decisions based on the latest, comprehensive data.
“Because of our partnership with eCopy, Westbrook Technologies was able to leverage the eCopy Developer's Program and comprehensive ShareScan software developer's kit to develop the connector," said Mitchell Hallock, Westbrook Technologies director of marketing. "As a result, the Fortis for ShareScan Connector has extended our powerful document management solution, allowing eCopy Suite users to easily scan documents into Fortis.”
The eCopy Suite enables any organization to transform paper documents into information that is easily integrated into commonly used business applications. Using the eCopy products, companies can provide open access to scanning from the office copier or scanner that connects to the company's email, fax, document management system, and other networked enterprise applications for instantaneous distribution and management of digital copies of paper documents.
"Businesses using Westbrook Technologies' Fortis and eCopy ShareScan will find themselves improving productivity and saving time due to the seamless integration developed by Westbrook for ShareScan," said Noel O'Dwyer, eCopy director of strategic alliances. "Fortis for ShareScan includes powerful functionality, including user authentication, multiple database access and entry of indexing information right at the digital copier."
