TABS' President Named 2006 “Executive of the Year”
IRVINE, CA--Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) is proud to announce that company President and CEO Richard K. Taylor has been named the 2006 “Executive of the Year” by Marketing Research Consultants Inc. (MRC), a Glastonbury, Connecticut-based consulting firm. This is the third time Taylor has been honored with the distinction, also being recognized as “Executive of the Year” in 2003 and 2001. Taylor was selected based on the responses received from nearly 350 dealers participating in MRC’s 21st Annual Dealer Survey. The award will be presented at a ceremony held June 22, 2006 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
“We are extremely pleased to present Rick with this prestigious honor for the third time in the last six years,” said Frank G. Cannata, president, MRC. “Rick exemplifies all the traits of a true leader. It is clear from the feedback received in our survey, even in the years he didn’t win the top honor, that Rick is well-admired by the entire dealer community and that his actions have had a positive impact on our industry.”
“I am honored to accept this award and would like to thank those dealers who participated in the survey,” said Taylor. “It is through the tremendous support of TABS’ executive leadership team, as well as our entire staff, that we have been able to provide the products and support to ensure the success of our dealers. As always, our dealers and end user customers are our first priority.”
Prior to assuming the role of president and CEO on Oct. 1, 2005, Taylor served as senior vice president, Sales, Marketing and Business Operations for TABS. Under Taylor’s 10 years of leadership, Toshiba has introduced and expanded a number of successful strategic business initiatives designed to position TABS’ dealers for sales success. In addition to overseeing the Electronic Imaging Division’s operations, Taylor has managed the company’s Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS) subsidiary, a network of wholly owned office equipment dealers throughout the United States.
In the copier industry for more than 25 years, Taylor began his career with
Xerox and spent a decade with Savin Corporation, departing as vice president,
Dealer Sales. Prior to joining Toshiba in 1995, Taylor was president of Better
Office Systems (BOS), an Alco Standard Company.
