TBS Completes 51st Dealer Acquisition in Key Chicago Market
IRVINE, CA – In a strategic move to expand Toshiba’s market share in the nation’s third-largest metropolitan area, Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS) today announced the acquisition of leading Chicago-based office products dealership, Advanced Business Tech, Inc. (ABT). This acquisition marks the 51st dealer acquisition for TBS since the inception of the company’s business expansion plan, further growing TBS’ nationwide network of wholly owned subsidiary operations.
“We are very excited about Advanced Business Tech joining the TBS organization. Becoming part of the Toshiba family strengthens our ability to provide our customers with document management solutions that will improve their businesses, while increasing Toshiba’s presence and market share in the Windy City,” said Harry Talanian, president, ABT. “The key benefit of aligning with Toshiba is that we will continue to provide a high level of personalized service to our valued customers, while benefiting from Toshiba’s worldwide resources and industry-leading technology.”
In addition to ABT’s Arlington Heights headquarters, the dealership has an additional facility in Chicago Loop, Ill. Well known locally for providing exceptional customer service, ABT employs 45 professionals and has been serving the metro Chicago and surrounding areas’ document solutions needs since 1982. Talanian will continue to serve as president and the location will begin to do business as Toshiba Business Solutions-Illinois.
“Our most recent acquisitions have been in key strategic markets for TBS, covering Dallas and Chicago, which help to round out national coverage for the TBS organization,” said Wayne Wilkinson, vice president/general manager, TBS. “We intend to grow rapidly in Chicago due in large part to the significant market opportunities and the outstanding management team at ABT. Further market growth opportunities will come in this area as we continue to look for additional acquisitions to add to the scale of our newest core subsidiary location.”
