Tech Data U.S. to Distribute Document Capture and Management Solutions from EMC

CLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tech Data Corporation has continued to expand its Document Imaging Specialized Business Unit (SBU) solutions offering for small-to-midsize business (SMB) resellers. Through the SBU, Tech Data customers now have access to EMC Captiva QuickScan Pro, InputAccel Express and EMC Documentum Application Xtender document capture and management software from EMC Corporation.

“Eliminating the need to manage paper documents and provide on-demand access to the information they contain is a compelling, tangible business solution that resellers can present their SMB customers,” said Jennifer Burke, Tech Data’s director, Peripherals Product Marketing. “Our agreement with EMC adds to our extensive document imaging product offering, which includes an array of image capture and content management software solutions, as well as specialized ISV applications for key vertical markets. By strengthening our hardware and software offerings, we provide new and existing imaging resellers with greater flexibility as they develop and deliver the latest document imaging solutions.”

QuickScan Pro is a document capture solution SMBs can leverage to scan batches of documents, as well as view and manipulate files before exporting for storage and user access. QuickScan Pro also provides a wide range of image-management functions to enhance data recognition, document classification and accessibility. InputAccel Express is designed to quickly convert paper documents into digital content for software applications and databases, such as a company’s customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Like QuickScan Pro, InputAccel Express enables businesses to automate manual document management tasks which can help accelerate processes and streamline operations. ApplicationXtender offers users browser-based access to scanned and stored documents, such as invoices, contracts and customer records.

“Through its Document Imaging SBU, Tech Data is providing value-added resellers with the products and support they need to capitalize on the demand for imaging solutions in the SMB market,” said Jay DeWalt, Vice President of Indirect and Solution Sales, World Wide Content Management and Archiving at EMC Corporation. “EMC’s QuickScan Pro, InputAccel Express and ApplicationXtender solutions are designed and priced for SMBs, and we see tremendous opportunity for resellers to leverage our products and Tech Data’s expertise in this segment.”

“Tech Data’s Document Imaging SBU team provides us with the dedicated, skilled support we need to efficiently identify and develop a wide range of imaging solutions,” said Steve Krell, vice president, Imaging Systems. “The addition of EMC enhances the breadth of solutions that we can offer, strengthening our value add and the service levels we can provide our customers.”

Tech Data’s Document Imaging SBU product offering includes scanners, storage hardware, imaging software, accessories, vendor service agreements and extended warranties. Its dedicated team of sales and technical resources, including ECMp and CDIA+ certified product specialists, provide pre- and post-sales support such as configuration and authorization assistance, bid preparation and price quotes.
