Tech Data U.S. Strengthens Sales Support and Focuses on Customer Growth
CLEARWATER, FL - Tech Data Corporation is enhancing sales support for tens of thousands of IT resellers nationwide. The IT products distributor today announced a new leadership team and customer support model for its U.S. Sales Division.

Tech Data recently promoted Marty Bauerlein to vice president, West and Central Sales; Derrek Hallock to vice president, SMB Sales; and named Terry Hagerty, vice president, National Accounts Sales. Along with Vice President, East and Government Sales, Joe Quaglia, Bauerlein, Hagerty and Hallock comprise Tech Data’s U.S. Sales executive team reporting to Wright, who joined Tech Data late last year.
Bauerlein joined Tech Data as director, Central Field Sales in 2005. Prior to his promotion, he served as director, Central and West Sales. He has 12 years of distribution sales experience, including several sales leadership positions with distributor Ingram Micro before joining Tech Data.
In 2006, Hallock joined Tech Data as director, SMB Sales. Prior to joining the distributor, he worked for one of the largest value-added resellers in the country, CompuCom Systems, and served in various leadership roles including sales, operations, business development and supply chain management.
Hagerty has more than two decades of IT experience and has been with Tech Data since 1984, leaving the company briefly in 1998 to earn her master’s degree in international business management. Hagerty began her career with Tech Data as a sales representative. She has served in numerous leadership positions since then, including vice president, West and Central Sales; vice president & general manager, Marketing Services; vice president, Channel Marketing; and director, Apple Products Division.
Quaglia joined Tech Data in 2006 with nearly 17 years experience in the IT industry including 10 years with CA, a leading provider of IT management software and services. At CA, he held several senior executive positions including senior vice president, Sales and Operations for the software company’s Northeast and Central U.S. divisions.
Wright has more than 25 years experience in the IT industry including senior executive positions with leading manufacturers and a broadline distributor. Most recently, he was president and general manager for Lenovo Canada, where he was responsible for the PC company’s sales, marketing and channel strategies. Prior to Lenovo, he was general manager for distributor Ingram Micro Canada.
Under its new leadership team, Tech Data’s U.S. Sales Division is enhancing customer support, especially among its SMB and VAR sales teams. Tech Data is implementing a more consultative, solutions-oriented support model through more reseller engagement, which better enables the distributor to identify unique growth opportunities for customers. For example, Tech Data Sales is working closely with resellers and business partners to develop custom enablement programs leveraging training for emerging technologies, alternative financing options and many other services to help resellers profitably capitalize on new revenue opportunities.
Tech Data also continues to develop its SMB Sales Division, which the distributor established nearly two years ago to increase engagement of this growing market segment. SMB Sales supports thousands of customers nationwide and is the fastest-growing U.S. Sales division at Tech Data. Augmenting its dedicated sales support for small-to-midsize business resellers, the division launched its SMBAccess Partner Connection conferences.
