Toshiba Unveils the e-STUDIO40P at COMDEX 2001

Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) will be demonstrating its flagship 40 page-per-minute e-STUDIO40P, the first in a new line of standalone digital monochrome laser printers at COMDEX 2001 at Booth L5638 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 12-16.

Building on the success of its full-featured e-STUDIO MFPs, Toshiba will unveil a series of desktop and high-speed network printers in the 16-40 ppm range over the next few months. By expanding into the growing printer market, TABS is poised to offer complete office solutions to its customers who already rely on Toshiba for high quality copiers, fax machines and Multifunctional Peripherals, MFPs, and document management advice and software.

The e-STUDIO40P touts a 350 MHz processor that can print the most complex documents in record time. With the ability to produce 200,000 impressions per month, the e-STUDIO40P generates as many prints as competitor's machines rated at twice its speed.

All of the e-STUDIO monochrome laser printer models offer exceptional quality and value. Each model comes standard with letter/legal sized printing at 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution and PostScript3 Level and PCL6 printing, which enables users to print the most complex graphics and Internet-based documents at a significantly faster processing time. Toshiba is also offering an impressive array of accessories and options for the complete eSTUDIO Monochrome Laser Printer Line. These include: additional paper supplies, duplexing, additional paper output capacity and document stapling.

A Networked Printer For High Volume Environments

Designed to be a shared networked printer in a large workgroup setting, the e-STUDIO40P comes with 32MB standard RAM, upgradeable to 384 MB. For processing high volumes of graphics-intense documents, an optional 5GB hard disk drive is available. The enhanced memory translates into greater overall office productivity as it allows documents to be temporarily stored, freeing up both the user's PC and the network itself.

The e-STUDIO40P comes standard with a built-in 10/100Mbit network interface to streamline the network-connectivity process and ships with MarkVision network management software. This powerful software package makes it possible to monitor and manage printer status in real time and generate inventory reports for cost management of consumables to ensure maximum productivity and uptime.

A standard USB connection provides laptop and PDA users added convenience. Now they can just plug-in and print -- an extra benefit for busy executives on the run.

Advanced Finishing Features

The e-STUDIO40 has a total paper capacity of 4,100 pages and comes standard with two 500-sheet paper cassettes and a 100-sheet bypass. By adding the optional paper sources, users can take full advantage of the e-STUDIO40P's processing power.

Innovative finishing features make this machine a standout among the competition. Particularly noteworthy is an optional StapleSmart finisher that lets users staple documents during the printing process, much like a more advanced digital copier. An Output Expander option gives users even greater flexibility when printing large quantities of documents.
