Visioneer Announces the OneTouch 7100 USB Scanner
Visioneer has announced the first scanner in their new Slimline series, the OneTouch(TM) 7100 USB color flatbed scanner. This new slim scanner is 33% smaller than previous models, measuring only 17" x 11.9" x 2.6." The OneTouch 7100 USB utilizes CCD (Couple Charged Device) sensors and features an optical resolution of 1200 x 4800 dpi, 48-bit internal color and FlashBack(TM) Bi-directional AutoScan Technology.
"Our studies have shown us that CCD sensors produce much better image quality than CIS (Contact Image Sensors) used in competing slim scanners," said Murray L. Dennis, Visioneer's President and CEO. "Moreover, when scanning documents, OCR accuracy is superior on CCD based scanners when compared to CIS scanners, particularly if you are scanning a book or magazine article."
The OneTouch 7100 USB comes bundled with ArcSoft PhotoImpression software that easily lets users turn favorite photos into works of art. With a friendly and inviting user interface, PhotoImpression has a wide range of fun and useful image editing features and templates that give users a head start in making creative home photo projects.
The 1200 x 4800 dpi optical resolution eliminates jagged edges and captures the finest detail from originals. That is enough resolution to turn a 4" x 6" photo into a 16" x 24" image with no loss of detail.
Designed For Ease-of-Use
Visioneer's OneTouch scanners are engineered for both first-time and experienced scanner users. All OneTouch scanners come with the buttons pre-configured to scan at the optimal settings for the most common tasks, so first-time users can start scanning immediately. The five buttons on the OneTouch 7100 USB are: scan, copy, OCR, email, and custom.
FlashBack Bi-directional AutoScan Technology Simplifies Tasks with Two-way Scanning
The OneTouch 7100 USB uses Visioneer's patent pending FlashBack Bi-directional AutoScan Technology to simplify scanning tasks. With most scanners, the user has to click prescan and wait for the preview to appear on the screen. While the scanning head returns, the user selects what area to scan and the scanner must make a second pass to complete the final scan. With Visioneer's FlashBack AutoScan enabled, the scanner moves one way to prescan the image area quickly, automatically crops to the edges of the photo, then reverses direction and completes the final high resolution scan on the return trip. Visioneer scanners with FlashBack simplify scanning and save time by eliminating the second pass during autocrop scanning.
Abundant Software Bundle
The Visioneer OneTouch 7100 USB comes complete with ScanSoft's PaperPort Deluxe 7.0 with built-in OCR and ArcSoft PhotoImpression 3.0.
ScanSoft's PaperPort Deluxe 7.0 software is the document and image management application that creates thumbnails of everything you scan allowing easy filing in color-coded folders. ScanSoft's TextBridge OCR is built into PaperPort Deluxe and allows users to edit scanned pages of text without having to retype documents.
ArcSoft PhotoImpression is an easy-to-use photo editing and creative design program that allows users to edit and retouch photos, then add special effects or place them in cards, calendars, frames and templates.
Visioneer Scan Manager Pro Advanced TWAIN Driver
The Slimline scanner series is Visioneer's latest model to feature Scan Manager Pro, an advanced TWAIN driver with tools normally found only in high-end image editing applications. Visioneer's Scan Manager Pro includes multi-level zoom activated by rolling the mouse wheel, an eyedropper for selecting blackpoint, midpoint and whitepoint, response curve editing with dynamic histogram, hue and saturation adjustments and output scaling.
