West Point Products Introduces AgriTone: Premium Replacement Toner Cartridges W / Bio-Based Content
Valley Grove, WV & Gananoque, ON (August 2009) - West Point Products, a leading manufacturer of aftermarket imaging supplies, is pleased to introduce AgriTone premium replacement toner cartridges, a series of remanufactured laser toner cartridges containing bio-based toner. Agritone cartridges are powered by BioBlack, a bio-based toner with patent-pending protection, which boasts the imaging industry’s highest concentration of bio-content according to independent third-party testing.
“At West Point Products our mission is to provide products and services that add value to our customers. Agritone is another new product offering which helps fulfill this mission, while also contributing to a more sustainable environment,” stated Joe Lucot, West Point Products President/COO.
The critical difference between AgriTone cartridges and traditional cartridges is that AgriTone cartridges contain BioBlack, a toner comprised of a significant amount of bio-based material, in place of petroleum-based toner. The resins used to create the toner are made with natural oils from American crops like soy, corn, and cottonseed, all renewable resources that are not only readily available, but sustainable long-term.
“We are extremely proud of this new product offering,” stated West Point Products CEO Tom Day, “At West Point Products, we have long prided ourselves on our commitment to the environment, which has become a focal point of our daily operations.”
In 2008 alone, West Point Products collected more than 900,000 cartridges through its Empty Core Collection Program, and recycled more than 1,000,000 pounds of raw materials from its remanufacturing process.
“With the increased focus on the environment and sustainability , the timing of this new product could not be better for our customers,” added Day, “There is great deal of opportunity in selling green solutions, and we are confident that dealers offering AgriTone will have the tools necessary to take full advantage of those opportunities. We are committed to leading the way not only in terms of the bio-content in AgriTone, but also in product quality. Product quality is a commitment we have always made to our customers, and that commitment extends to AgriTone as well.”
Developed and manufactured in West Point Products’ ISO 9001 registered facility in Valley Grove, WV, AgriTone premium replacement cartridges are thoroughly tested for quality using ASTM testing methods. The cartridges are fully backed by West Point Products’ comprehensive warranty, ensuring customer satisfaction and guaranteeing the quality that dealers and users have come to expect from West Point Products.
“The technology involved in AgriTone cartridges, particularly in the use of bio-based resins and toners, has been years in development,” added Lucot, “At West Point Products, we have always made the conscious decision to be not only one of the first to market with any given product, but more importantly to be the best to market. With AgriTone, we have not only managed to develop a remanufactured cartridge of excellent quality, but a cartridge containing toner made from renewable resources. It’s a feat we are quite proud of, and one that will give our resellers a distinct advantage in the marketplace”
AgriTone’s initial release includes replacement cartridges for a number of the most popular HP workgroup printers, including the HP LaserJet 4200 series, HP LaserJet 4300 series, HP LaserJet 4345mfp, and the HP LaserJet 4250/4350 series. Subsequent releases will expand the product line to include other popular small-workgroup printers by leading manufacturers. Production quantities are expected by the end of September.
