World Expo 2009 Opened Doors to New Attendees, Exhibitors and Markets

Las Vegas, NV (September 2009)- The evolution of the aftermarket was reflected at the Recharger’s World Expo 2009, as new attendees and exhibitors experienced a refreshed floorplan, new features and expanded education offerings. More than 3,000 attendees and 132 exhibitors were present at the show, held Aug. 19-21, 2009.

“Forty percent of this year’s exhibitors did not exhibit in 2008, so there was a nice component of new exhibitors,” said Publisher Patricia Ames. “While the format of the show was essentially the same as last year, the look and feel of the show was different. The floor plan was rearranged to allow for greater attendee traffic to all booth locations, and a more consistent flow of traffic overall.”

Also new at World Expo 2009 was the frontrunner event, a Managed Print Summit, held the Tuesday before the show floor opened. The Managed Print Pavilion on the show floor was another new addition, and an example of the more diverse nature of the show.

“Our marketing efforts were focused on bringing new attendees from related industries, in addition to the traditional ‘recharger’ market,” Ames said. “By almost all accounts these changes had a noticeable and positive impact on the show. It was incredibly rewarding for us to hear the amazing feedback we got from attendees and exhibitors alike.”

Plans are already in place for World Expo 2010. The format will include some dramatic changes to enhance the attendee and exhibitor experience, including a transition to a two-day show, more use of pavilions for groups and categories in addition to managed print, and a more integrated Readers Choice Program.

World Expo 2010 will take place July 14 and 15, 2010 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
