X-Rite’s ColorMunki Design Validated for Use with Sharp MFPs

Grand Rapids, MI / Mahwah, NJ (October 2009) - X-Rite, Inc., a world leader in color management, measurement and communication technologies, and Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, today announced that X-Rite’s award winning ColorMunki Design has been validated for use with Sharp’s latest color MX Series multifunctional peripherals (MFPs).

The innovative ColorMunki Design delivers unparalleled color control and color creation tools for corporate digital design workflows. A combination of hardware and software, ColorMunki allows users to quickly and accurately capture colors from any surface, easily calibrate monitors, projectors and printers for accurate display-to-print matching, and verify spot colors for process-safe reproduction in any medium.

In addition to its design specific features, the color control capabilities of ColorMunki Design will allow corporate technical service teams to verify whether colors are safely reproducible using the PrintSafe™ feature, as well as troubleshoot color issues and control color usage and costs. Using ColorMunki, color communication within production teams can be streamlined and efficient, from designer, to producer, to printer.

“As a Sharp Partner Program member, we will be able to help Sharp’s MFP customers further increase their level of color control by integrating the ColorMunki into their creative process. Users will be able to easily integrate digital PANTONE libraries in their corporate workflow, make use of key colors, and easily share media profiles to ensure color consistency on every project,” commented Eric Langlois, Global Account Manager at X-Rite.

“Sharp’s goal is to provide best-in-class tools and applications to our customers that are user friendly and add value. The ColorMunki spectrophotometer and included software offers this and much more,” said Mike Marusic, vice president, Marketing and Service, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “Both the novice and advanced user will find the ColorMunki useful in managing color in color critical environments. The validation of ColorMunki Design for use with Sharp MFPs means that customers can be assured they are getting a tried and tested tool that can be quickly integrated into their digital design workflow for consistent and predictable results every time.”

Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, markets the advanced color MX Series multifunctional peripheral (MFP) systems that help companies manage workflow efficiently and increase productivity.
