Xerox Releases Document Assessment Tool

Xerox Corporation is reaching out to reseller partners to expand access to document assessment services that evaluate output needs, pinpoint inefficiencies and streamline document processes in small and mid-sized offices.

The Xerox Office Productivity Advisor, an analytical tool that identifies direct and indirect costs associated with document output, is now available through qualified members of the Xerox Peak Reseller Partner program. Working with the XOPA tool, resellers can uncover hidden opportunities in office document processes and provide customized recommendations to cut costs and boost productivity.

XOPA combines customer data and research with powerful modeling algorithms that help resellers better understand the true costs of printing and copying. Requiring a minimal time investment from customers, the tool provides an opportunity for resellers to move into consultative advisory services and deliver additional value to customers.

Jim Firestone, president, Xerox North America, said making the XOPA tool available to key resellers is part of a strategy to bring more document services to a broader base of customers. He urged resellers to help combat "deflationary spiral" in the information technology market, citing document processes among the untapped sources of value and productivity.

"Customer focus is shifting from infrastructure to value, from hardware to services," Firestone pointed out. "The winners will take world-class technology and build services around it - delivering real, measurable business results through a more holistic view of printing and document management."

Landmark Systems of Madison Heights, Mich., is one of the first Xerox resellers using the XOPA tool.

"Xerox consistently works to provide partners with the tools and education necessary to improve the customer experience," said Chris McPherson, solutions consultant, Landmark Systems. "We recently expanded our business with a long time customer to include their office printing technology - a win we gained primarily from the additional value we were able to provide, and savings we were able to find, by using XOPA to evaluate their environment."
