TSC Imaging: Expanding The Ties That Bind
In just three short years, TSC
Imaging, formerly known as The Staple Connection (TSC), has solidified its place
as the premier supplier of compatible copier/printer staples in North America,
Europe, the Middle East and Africa and is forging the path to success with its
full line of compatible cartridges and drum units, rollers and PM kits.
As a major Account Sales Manager at Seldrum International, Inc. servicing Ikon
Office Solutions, Matthew Urquhart founded The Staple Connection to supply the
need for quality compatible staples in an industry bound to the OEMs.
"I met with many supply managers over the years," said Urquhart. "There were no
compatible staples, the OEMs were the only suppliers and I knew that with all
the contacts I had made over my career, compatible staples could be a very

product and our synergy together, we were sure to succeed," said Urquhart. And

doubling each year since.

lower priced items coming from outside our manufacturing partners," said Sparks.

best available products."
As the premier compatible stapler provider, TSC has earned its reputation for
superior products through its strict quality controls which include in-house
manufacturing with random testing on every production run, IS09001/2 quality
certifications, manufacturing according to OEM tolerance specs, and most
recently, independent staple testing through Buyer’s Laboratory. "I believe that
we are the only aftermarket company to invest in third party testing," said
Urquhart whose TSC 104 staple (the most popular staple in the marketplace)
recently received a 100 percent flawless test at Buyers Laboratory. "A satisfied
customer is our image—we are the staple connection!"
This confidence in quality is
what brought TSC to expand its operations into imaging supplies almost
immediately. "Our sales representatives, who all average 10+ years of experience
between them, would come back to the office with requests from our customers for
drums, rollers and compatible cartridges," said Sparks. "It was only logical to
expand beyond the staple niche and give our customers what they wanted."
And so, in 2004, TSC Imaging started a line of compatible cartridges that has
expanded to its current offering of more than 400 compatibles including color
offerings for use in Canon, HP, Lexmark, Oki Data, Panasonic and Xerox machines
to name a few. TSC Imaging also offers drum units for Canon, Ricoh, Savin,
Lanier, and Gestetner, PM kits for the Ricoh dealer family, private label
programs and customized maintenance kits.
As a further indicator of the success of TSC Imaging this past fall, TSC opened
a second location in Burlington, Canada, further broadening its product range
