Ft. Lauderdale, FL (March 2010) – ITEX, the mega trade show for office
technology and business solutions for the channel, announced today that ITEX
2010 clearly hit its mark with a solid turnout for its tenth annual event at the
Las Vegas Convention Center. Despite the challenging economy, nearly 2,600
C-level decision makers: Dealers, VARs, ISVs, manufacturers, consultants,
business owners and more arrived to network with exhibitors and attend the
crowded education sessions, indicating that channel providers were seriously
seeking credible information, platforms and product to address their current
business needs.
Marc Spring, co-founder of ITEX and Imaging Network, a subsidiary of Questex
Media Group LLC, said, “ITEX hit a bulls-eye for 2010. Our peer-led education
tracks are a driving force for dealers who want to find the latest trends or are
struggling in today’s market and are reassessing their business model, seeking
better methods. Dealers by nature are resilient and ITEX brings them actionable
information to act upon. From launching Managed Print Service programs to
understanding key benchmarks, ITEX educates the dealer community in credible
go-to-market strategies while spotlighting cutting edge advancements of what to
expect next.”
The event’s theme for 2010, “Be the Hybrid Dealer” was implemented throughout
the show through special pavilions and strong education tracks where topics
engaged dealers in new or enhanced opportunities to expand their core business
offerings to experience better revenue. Notably, ITEX delivered 25 Power Hour
education sessions within five key tracks: Hybrid Dealer A & B on a myriad of
topics; Document Solutions; Sales & Marketing, and Service. Two dynamic Managed
Print Services Forums, held over three days to address all aspects of MPS, were
led by key vendors and sponsors that included BEI Pros, Print Management
Solutions Group, ECi, PrintFleet, FMAudit, Compass Sales Solutions, GreatAmerica
Leasing, Parts Now!, LMI, DocuWare, Supplies Network, EFI, and Printer
Essentials. Dealer surveys indicated top marks for education in both the general
sessions and MPS Forums. The tally for overall vendor/manufacturer
participation at the show was nearly 170 exhibitors. A Resource Pavilion and
Hybrid Dealer Pavilion with collective services and product offerings in wide
format, mailing systems, office supplies and more were featured on the exhibit
floor for dealers to review and consider additional revenue streams.
Margie Davis, BERTL’s VP Business Development said, “BERTL once again felt
the annual ITEX dealer event was an extremely important show to attend and
participate in. The educational seminars were well-attended and the foot traffic
on the show floor was steady. Overall, we heard happy and positive feedback from
the attendees. If you missed this year’s event, be sure to make plans to attend
ITEX 2011.”
Special break out events included the Business Technology Association’s “Meet
& Greet Reception” at the Las Vegas Hilton, where they presented their Channel
Choice Awards to selected manufacturers, along with concurrent events at the
show that included ASI, ECi /La Crosse/OMD Roundtables, IBPI Annual Dealer
Meeting, the National Printer Repair Network members meeting.
ITEX Rotates to East Coast for 2011
ITEX, a subsidiary of Questex Media LLC whose properties include AIIM Expo &
Conference/Info360, OnDemand, and InfoTrends, will co-locate to Washington, DC
in 2011 to create a unique synergy between the company’s existing events. The
strong alliance will create a fresh and exciting venue based on a compatible
industry focus, with ITEX concentrating on addressing the integral needs of
dealers and VARs specifically. In addition to ITEX’s traditional audience,
Info360 has garnered a strong presence from the channel at their event, and
co-locating with ITEX will give both properties the added opportunity to expand
on this component for the channel attendees. ITEX will continue to deliver
innovative strategies to the channel as before yet evolve to the next logical
step to fully educate the marketplace and emerging Hybrid Dealer.
