OKI Data Americas & CMIT Solutions to Provide Managed Print Services Offering for Small Businesses

25 Sep, 2012

Mt. Laurel, NJ/Austin, TX - September 19, 2012 — Today, OKI Data Americas and CMIT Solutions® announce a strategic partnership to provide CMIT’s 130-plus Managed Service Providers (MSPs) across the country with a standardized, comprehensive business model of Managed IT Network and Managed Print Services. The alliance will allow CMIT’s local partners to offer an unprecedented suite of IT and Managed Print Services specifically designed for small businesses, and represents significant partnership for OKI Data in the small business realm.

CMIT, a nationwide provider of managed IT services for small businesses, is collaborating with the document management experts, OKI Data Americas, to incorporate OKI Data’s revolutionary Total Managed Print™ solution and portal into CMIT’s portfolio of services. The offering is being marketed as “CMIT Print powered by OKI”.

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) face the daunting task of coordinating and networking their varying assortment of printers and operating systems, which can result in wasted time, effort and money. Outsourced Managed Print Services lift that burden from business owners’ shoulders in the same way MSPs manage their customers’ IT systems.

Traditionally, these types of services have been available only to large, enterprise-sized businesses that could afford the hefty upfront investment; combined managed IT and print services are far rarer among SMBs. But with CMIT Print powered by OKI, SMBs can realize the savings and efficiencies from outsourcing both network and print services while maintaining their long-term business relationships with local MSPs.

“This is a banner day and a tremendous growth opportunity for CMIT Solutions because print management was a key component of SMB technology that we weren’t offering before,” said Frank Picarello, CMIT Solutions’ chief operating officer. “We’ve been looking for the right Managed Print Services provider to offer top-level print solutions for our local partners and to our SMB clients.”

“OKI Data offers far and away the most advanced and sophisticated print management platform available in today’s market. This partnership allows our local partners to serve all of their customers’ technology needs, from network to print to document management.”

“OKI Data’s partnership with CMIT Solutions takes full advantage of both companies’ core competencies, and represents a huge opportunity to extend both Managed Print Services and OKI Data’s brand deeper into the SMB marketplace,” said Tim Brien, Director of Managed Print Services for OKI Data Americas. “I am unaware of any other partnership between a Managed Print Services provider like OKI Data and a national managed IT services network like CMIT. This is a mutually beneficial alliance that will facilitate greater penetration of OKI’s products and services and result in the delivery of leading-edge, local services for SMBs across the country.”

OKI Data’s Total Managed Print™ (TMP) offering is a flexible, modular platform that will allow CMIT’s service providers to comprehensively manage their clients’ print systems across all devices and operating systems, saving them time and money. TMP offers unique features such as an analytic engine to assess customers’ print fleet according to the latest industry research and best practices; a dynamic report generator that automates up-front manual processes to deliver customized reports for clients; and fleet optimization that tracks usage, cost and profit to ensure maximum efficiency.

“OKI Data is an ideal partner for CMIT Solutions because our passion is the same – to manage our business clients’ technology so they don’t have to,” Picarello said. “With CMIT Print powered by OKI, small business owners will no longer have to worry about any aspect of their technology platform. The local CMIT partner can manage their complete suite of technology offerings, and the business owners can reap the rewards of having more time, energy, and resources to run their businesses.”
